Happy new year!
Wishing you all a healthy and happy 2009 *big hug*
Well, we've had a busy last few days - Phil's Mum was 80 yesterday, and all the family went over to see her - I didn't want to go and give her my cold, but she said that two others were poorly too, so not to worry. Lovely to see them again and she had lots of flowers; Kathryn is plotting a big celebration in May when Jean's twin sister, Mary, comes over to the UK for 6 weeks.
So much has happened that I'm not sure where to start.. Phil got the IKEA roll-front cupboard up in the kitchen for me, so I have been moving stuff around - still some re-organising to do and cupboards to clean out, but it's looking better already and I no longer have booby-trapped cupboards, which empty themselves on you when you open the door.
The cold is abating slightly; the nose has finally stopped running - 2 boxes of tissues later, and is sore and chapped so I am slapping plenty of 8 hour cream on it. I had a pamper session on the 30th - one of my presents from Phil was a hand pampering session, and I sooo needed it. Since having eczema on my hands as a child, the skin on them has been very thin and prone to splitting in the cold weather - the treatment was divine and left them soft and silky *grins*
I also got some new beads for my trollbead bracelet - it's fast filling up now, I have two more beads since this photo was taken:
We were going to go out for a meal last night as usual, but I felt so rubbish with the ghastly cold that we decided to stay in, watch X Men 3 and eat some snacks. We didn't stay up to watch the new year in, but the fireworks and church bells woke me at midnight. Very cold here again, although we haven't had the freezing fog and hoar frost of the last couple of days, still the chooks' water has to be brought in at night to stop it freezing solid and staying that way. The pup has discovered something that she likes eating even more than chicken poo..... frozen chicken poo!!!!!
Ruby met her boyfriend Storm in the park today and the two of them were careering around like mad things; Rubes skidded a couple of times and ended up face down in the mud, so she had to have a bath when we got back; she's now sparkly clean and smells lovely. Phil took some photos while we did it..... excuse my red nose and pallor!
My two favourite girls - as Phil says; you just can't take a bad photo of Rosie:
Still, back to work tomorrow and a new year to be getting on with; I have a date for the small claims court hearing to get the money back off the eejit builder, Feb 17th, so I need to prepare for that, the van needs a service and MOT at the end of the month. I am waiting to hear from the hospital too - I need to have a small part of one of my scars cauterised after the op - no problem really - my strong immune system has meant that it has 'over-healed' and there is some granulated tissue that needs to be burnt away.
